The Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth began a weekend full of celebrations with a train ride from Newark ( the original site of their Mother house) to Convent Station. The festivities were enhanced by a Dixie Land Band, balloons and Sisters and Associates filled with joy. Upon arriving at Convent Station a procession complete with horse drawn carriage moved the participants through the campus.
On Saturday, Federation President, Sr. Barbara Hagedron SC of Cincinnati, delivered an inspiring message based on the Seton Family motto: Hazard, Yet Forward. Prayer remembering those sisters who have gone before was a moving part of the remembering a glorious past. A Sunday liturgy at Sacred Heart Basilica in Newark was an exciting moving into a future yet unknown but full of promise.
