Posted by SC Federation on October 3, 2012 in News , Vincentian Family November 12–16 Catholic Sisters from across the country, along with their friends and families are coming to New Orleans for Nuns Build to rebuild the homes and lives of Katrina survivors. On-site skilled site supervisors will teach volunteers how to install insulation, drywall, and trim on multiple houses over the course of five days. Sisters of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. There are up to 8,000 families that own homes they cannot afford to rebuild across the city.

Bernard Project St. Bernard Project is a rebuilding nonprofit created to remove physical, mental and emotional barriers for vulnerable residents who are struggling to recover from the devastation and trauma caused by natural disasters. Since the organization was founded in 2006, over 40,000 volunteers have restored the homes of more than 440 families.
