Vincent De Paul and St Louise De Marillac in a manner fitting their devotion to those living in dire poverty, the worldwide Vincentian Family is sponsored a project called Zafèn. Zafèn means “It’s our business.” The website: www.zafen.org , offers opportunities for individuals and groups to become involved. Both loans and outright donations may be made. You can even purchase gift certificates so that your gift to a family member or friend may also help those in need.

Zafèn enables you to support sustainable, economic development projects in Haiti by funding enterprises of all sizes, creating jobs for those living in some of the poorest conditions in the world. This project will continue well beyond the anniversary year. Together the Vincentian Family and those who join with them, can make a big difference.

After only one month online, Zafen announced that it had provided one thousand year-long scholarships to grammar school children in Haiti (along with books, a back pack, and writing materials)! The website offers a variety of options for users to choose: single scholarships (at $50), two at once ($100), ten-packs ($500), and “full-school” options of $5,000 for 100 scholarships. The Mirebalais Education Project Society from Calgary in Alberta, Canada contributed several “full-school” scholarships!
