The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, greeted them warmly with a prayer service in the chapel of Caritas Christi. This service foucused on the Mission Statement of the Federation. Each day the Missions Statements of the various Congregations were used as part of the prayer and the particular needs of each Congregation were raised before God. The next morning, the theme of the meeting was enfleshed by a panel of newer members, Karen Cunningham SC, Nancy Gerth SCN and Allice Ann O’ Neil.

They spoke of their vision of the charism now and in the future. Reports from various committees and from the President, Barbara Hagedron SC; Treasure, Mary Frances Hildenberger DC and Executive Director, Mary Ann Daly SC, completed this day of Charity in Mission at the Grassroots. That evening all present were able to enjoy a performance of the Canta in honor of Elizabeth Seton which had been writen by Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill and was performed by a choir of sisters and laity from Greensburg.

On Saturday, with the theme of the Charity in MissionTogether, Gertrude Foley SC delivered an inspirational talk on the Charactertistics of the Charity Apostolic Tradition . During the day the assembly was able to discuss the proposed new struture for the governance of the Seton Shrine Ministries. There was also time for Open Space sessions on: Ecology, Trafficking, Immigration, Haiti, the Apostolic Visitation and the Mangage of Retirement Facilities.

The evening concluded with celebratory Sunday Vgil Lturgy and reception. A report for the NGO office, given by the NGO Representative, Caroljean Willie SC, began the day entitled, Charity in Mission in the Family .

Next , Robert Maloney CM spoke of the history and current reality of the Vincentian Family throughout the world. After questions and discussion, the participants then had a delightful brunch and tour of Pittsburgh. Monday provided time of the theme Charity in Mission in the World , to be explored by Congregations giving brief reports of their members activities throuhout the world. Recommendations to the Board were presented, along with Thank yous and Farewells to those leaving their leadership teams.

The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy from Charleston presented a DVD on their sisters and their city, to prepare the participants for the next annual meeting in May 2011. A final commisioning prayer service sent the goup forth, renewed, energized and committed to collaboratieve effrorts in living the Charity Mission.
